Magic Bullet?

You may already realize that I am not known for loving exercise. I enjoy boating with a cocktail in my hand, laying out and soaking up the sun, and putting my toes in the sand while reading a good book. However, it is hard for even me to overlook the magic bullet that exercise is.

I had a particularly stressful and upsetting day today. I needed to shake it off and remind myself about what is truly important to me (those I love). So, when I got home today, I laced up, and took my dog for a walk/jog. I needed to get perspective and let go of the day’s concerns. I find that the best way to do that is to get out and get some fresh air and exercise.

When you exercise, your body releases endorphins. Endorphins trigger a positive feeling in the body, similar to that of morphine! That feeling can be accompanied by a positive and energizing outlook on life, and distract you from daily worries.

It’s meditation in motion. As you begin to regularly shed your daily tensions through movement and physical activity, you may find that focus on a single task, and the resulting energy and optimism, can help you remain calm and clear.

If you could only bottle it, you would make a million dollars; but it does not cost a dime.

It can lift your mood, help with weight loss, increase your energy levels, reduce your risk of chronic disease, help skin health, help brain health and memory, help with relaxation and sleep quality, reduce pain, and promote a better sex life.

Now, what’s your excuse?
