Rx: A Walk in the Park

No matter which way the election goes on Tuesday, about half of us are going to be unhappy with the results. I am trying to wrap my head around it, as it is a possibility for both sides. So how will we move forward? What is Plan B if we are not happy with the results?

I know I will have to focus on the things I love about this country, such as its beauty and majesty. I can hang my head for a while if I have to, however the one thing that will help me recover will be exploring our country’s national parks. Recently I came across a check list for traveling to the parks which got me thinking a lot about going soon.

“When we slow down, stop the busywork, and take in beautiful natural surroundings, not only do we feel restored, but our mental performance improves too.” David Strayer, a cognitive psychologist at the University of Utah. Learn More

I hope what we will see in the years to come is less polarization and more compromise to help move the country forward. We are all to blame for creating and fostering a polarizing atmosphere. Now, we can help move the country forward by encouraging all to learn to compromise more. There are good ideas on both sides.

In the meantime, take a walk in the park.
